Burners can be placed in direct air heaters in many different ways, but this is most often based on the construction of the burner. The main distinction is between point- and duct burners. Point burners with one burner head are complicated to integrate in an air heat installation. The flame is often perpendicularly directed in the air stream. Duct burners can be placed in the actual process air stream and are most easily integrated in the systems.The flame points in the same direction as the process air flow. The process air stream is mixed with the flue gases by letting the process air stream flow"through" the burner. This solution mostly is a more efficient method of direct air heating.
